“There is one thing the photograph must contain: the humanity of the moment. This kind of photography is realism. But realism is not enough – there has to be vision, and the two together can make a good photograph.” (Robert Frank, photographer)
Humanity and knowledge. This crowd on the steps of the promenade, at Riva deli Schiavoni, is a mix of all nationalities, people of every culture, every shape, color, and size, satisfying the strong human desire to see new places and learn new things. In Venice, Italy.
Humanity and Sports. Nothing brings humans together like the love of sports. On these occasions, the world becomes small, nations forget their grievances, and humanity is at peace for a set period of time. At the 2014 World Cup, Brazil.
Humanity and Resilience (I). She’s homeless, but she hasn’t lost her dignity. She sets her desk at the park and writes. In Santa Monica, CA.
Humanity and Resilience II. Regardless of their economic and social challenges, these Malian women, most of them mothers, dressed in colorful outfits and kept a dignified air about them, greeting important visitors to their village.

What a lovely post. The opening quote sets it up beautifully and the photos and text expand nicely on the theme. Nicely done.
Thanks, Tina!
Lovely! I like the homeless woman’s photo the best and that she is writing.
Thanks, me too!
Excellent take on this week’s challenge. I like the last photo of the Malian women a lot – no matter how hard their lives are, they will always be up for welcoming guests to their village. Kindness from the heart right there 🙂
Thanks, Mabel!
