I have many images of bridges from around the world, but for this week’s Daily Post Challenge: Bridge I’m featuring the bridge for which I have a special fondness and that I had a chance to photograph again a couple months ago: San Francisco’s iconic Golden Gate Bridge.“The Golden Gate Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the Golden Gate strait, the one-mile-wide (1.6 km), one-point-seven-mile-long (2.7 km) channel between San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean… The bridge is one of the most internationally recognized symbols of San Francisco, California, and the United States. It has been declared one of the Wonders of the Modern World by the American Society of Civil Engineers.” (Wikipedia)

Lovely shots of the bridge, Angela. I especially like that first one. Always makes me smile and think of Lisbon’s Ponte de Abril. 🙂 🙂
Thanks, Jo! The Golden Gate Bridge always gets me all giddy with excitement. But now I must go back to Lisbon to see the Ponte de Abril, which I missed when we were there. In my defense, I had the flu (total misery) and it rained almost every single day we were there. 😦
We drove across it, glad to get out of the city because I’d had my purse stolen and spent the day with the police. Haven’t been back since, though I mean to 🙂 🙂
Oh, that’s a pity… 😦 You must give San Francisco another chance. It’s such a wonderful city.
I meant in Lisbon. I’ve sadly never made it to San Fran… one day! 🙂
Good pictures.
I love this bridge — although I only know it by pictures and films…
Thanks, Carlos.
Great photos of the Golden Gate!
