I went to the 2017 LA Art Show today and saw beautiful paintings, sculptures, and installations. This image is a detail shot of an abstract painting that seen from a distance looked entirely blue. But when I zoomed in with a 300mm focal length, I could capture the tiny bits of other colors the artist used. This shot is therefore an abstraction from an abstract painting by Korean artist Kim Tae-Ho, titled “Internal Rhythm.”

Thursday Doors – 01/12/17
Most times doors are the main attraction, but sometimes they are just excellent frames for interesting stuff… Photo taken at Chelsea Market, in New York.

11/365 – “When Life Gives You Lemons…”
Shoot wet oranges! Thanks to all the rain we’ve been getting in Los Angeles lately, it’s been a bit of a challenge getting out to shoot daily. On the other hand, the rain is helping with our severe drought and our orange tree is proof of that. After a long period without producing any fruit, it seems to be back in business! Rain and gray skies are a drag for photography, but I’m excited to see our orange tree healthy again and happy to use its fruits as subjects.
