365/Day 152

Leaving Lyon to Paris (late posting for June 1 – Day 152 of 365 Project)~~

We left Lyon in the morning of June 1 and headed by train to Paris for a final half-day in the city. This post shows some of the countryside between Lyon and Paris and some of our afternoon meanderings in Paris. We went back to the Left Bank for a walk around the Jardin du Luxembourg and the Latin Quarter.

Lyon II: Sunday Market (late posting for May 31, 2015 – Day 151 of Project 365)~~

There’s nothing like a good neighborhood street market. Especially when it is in France! This one in Lyon, by the banks of the Saône river, was very interesting. Locals and visitors mingled, some shopping, some enjoying a meal or a drink with friends and family.

Lyon ~~ (For May 30, 2015, Day 150 of Project 365)

[Wasn’t able to upload my photos to WordPress in Lyon, France. Back in LA, I’m catching up on my 365 project by posting photos I would’ve shared on the missed days.]

Lyon is known for its historical and architectural landmarks and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Lyon was an important area for the production and weaving of silk and in modern times has developed a reputation as the capital of gastronomy in France. It has a significant role in the history of cinema due to Auguste and Louis Lumière, who invented the cinematographe in Lyon.

365/ Day 146

Traveling Through Burgundy  ~~

I had major problems uploading photos here in Beaune, France. Only managed to upload three (!) so far! The first was taken on the road to Beaune; the second was taken in Auxerre, where we stopped to visit the beautiful St. Etienne cathedral; and the third is the Cathedral itself. It’s a gorgeous gothic church and I took lots of photos inside it, but at an average of 30 minutes per upload, I just gave up…
