On a late afternoon last September, as I strolled along the Boardwalk in Venice Beach looking for interesting stuff to photograph, strong Santa Ana winds started howling through the area, creating havoc on the boardwalk. Stalls and merchandise went flying around, sand quickly covered the sidewalk, sea birds flew away from the shore, and folks decided it was time to call it a day. I managed to snap these photos before things got out of hand.

There’s an exciting sense of community among soccer fans rooting for their team. Here, Brazilian soccer fans, in pre-World Cup mode, root for our beloved “Seleção Canarinha.” Will Brazil win its 6th World Cup at home in 2014? I sure hope so! 🙂
