My response to this week’s Photo Challenge, Gathering.

A daily ritual in Santa Monica: locals and tourists gather to watch the sun go down.

Turtles have no choice but to gather in the pond. Santa Barbara, CA.

Venice Beach residents gather on the Ocean Front with their four-legged friends.

Guys gather for a beer and idle talk in Venice Beach, Los Angeles.
This week, Ben Huberman, from the Daily Post, asks us to share a photographic “Oops!” moment. Well, I have not one, but a series of shameful, cringe-worthy, crazy “Oops moments.” I call them “My Bloopers” and keep them archived to remind me to never make the same mistakes again. Enjoy! 🙂
My entries for this week’s Photo Challenge,Trio.

Watching the sunset in Santa Monica, CA.

From a *real* Trio. Grammy Museum, Los Angeles, CA.

Somebody’s front yard. Venice Beach, CA.
If you want to see “Ornate,” you needn’t go any further than Paris’ 9th arrondissement, on the city’s Right Bank. Once there, make a quick (or long) stop at the famous Galleries Lafayette to appreciate its ornate gold decorated balconies and magnificent stained glass ceiling. From there, take a short walk to one of the most opulent buildings in Paris, the Opera Hose (L’Opera). Commissioned by Napoleon III, it was created by Charles Garnier in the popular Beaux Arts style of the time with heavy glass chandeliers, sweeping marble staircases and gilt decorations. All very ornate!
This week’s Photo Challenge is Careful, which is exactly what this chap had to be as he ran back and forth on a narrow surface on top of the Santa Monica buffs. Any misstep and he could fall onto the Pacific Coast Highway fast traffic below.
This week, Ben Huberman, at the Daily Post, challenges to share images of Boundaries. Boundaries, he says, “impose limits on us, whether they’re social constructs or real, physical objects… They’re there to stop us from doing or saying what we actually want to. But they also give structure to our actions and frame our movements.”
For this week’s Photo Challenge, Jen H. asks us to share our Monochromatic images, reminding us that “a powerful monochromatic image is composed of a gradient of a single color, and has an emphasis on texture and composition.”
