Some Rain For L.A. ~~

We had rain today in Los Angeles. Hallelujah! Light showers during the day, and heavy showers in the evening, with some serious thunder, lightning, and some hail to boot! During the day, I went out to the garden and backyard between showers and shot these macros. Things were a bit messy with the wind blowing lots of stuff around, but the flowers seemed to have new life.

Caught By The Sea ~~

“I spent uncounted hours sitting at the bow looking at the water and the sky, studying each wave, different from the last, seeing how it caught the light, the air, the wind; watching patterns, the sweep of it all, and letting it take me. The sea.”  ― from Gary Paulsen”s “Caught by the Sea”

Weekly Photo Challenge: Forces of Nature

For this week’s photo challenge, Forces of Nature, I’m sharing photos of my last snow storm in the Washington D.C. area before moving to Los Angeles. The snow was a force to be reckoned with! Left us without power for several days; roads were a mess; the Federal Government closed for a week, as did everything else. We had to go to a hotel for a few days to be safe. All this because the D.C. metro area is totally unprepared to handle snow. Just as Los Angeles can’t handle rain!! 🙂
