The Broad Museum~~
Yesterday I didn’t have time to post more about the The Broad (/broʊd/ US dict: brōd), a new contemporary art museum in Downtown, Los Angeles. The museum is named after philanthropist Eli Broad, who financed the $140 million building, designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro, to house part of his contemporary art collection.

Today we visited the recently opened Broad Museum of Contemporary Art in LA. I had a very busy day and evening and just made this quick post featuring the side of the building, which I find very interesting. More photos later.

The Rookery’s Light Court~~
In 1905, young Frank Lloyd Wright received the commission to redesign the lobby in the Rookery building, at the time considered the grandest in Chicago. Today the building houses the Frank Lloyd Wright Trust.

Chicago’s Posh Neighborhood ~~
Astor Street District is a Chicago Landmark, with 19th-century houses designed in a variety of historical revival styles, interspersed with apartment buildings and townhouses. The houses are primarily Queen Anne, Richardsonian Romanesque and the Georgian Revival styles. We walked around it this afternoon, before the rain came to put a damper on the perfect weather we’d gotten so far here in Chicago.
