365/Day 101

Giant Fig Tree~~ Beverly Hills has some of the most incredible trees you’ll ever see. That’s why it’s been recognized as Tree City USA. This giant Fig Tree is one of its treasures. It towers in all directions, with massive arterial roots that grow down from its branches. Today I spent some time there and shot a few photos of that and other trees. Will write about it in my soon to be revived “Discovering LA” blog.

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Churches or Religious Buildings

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge this week invites us to share images of churches or any religious buildings. Here is my contribution. Some the most beautiful cathedrals in the world.

365/ Day 97

The World’s Shortest Railway ~~ Come to Los Angeles where, for only 50 cents, you can ride the shortest railway in the world! The 298 feet long railway “dates back to 1901, when Bunker Hill was one of the most fashionable neighborhoods in Los Angeles and the cars, Olivet and Sinai, ferried prominent citizens up and down the steep slope between Hill and Olive streets.” The railway is currently closed due to some issues, but hopefully it will reopen soon… 🙂

365/Day 95

It’s still Easter Sunday in California so, Happy Easter to those who celebrate it! I had a busy day getting things ready for our family celebration and had no time for photography. So, as a last resort, welcome to our humble home! If you walked through our gate earlier today, you would’ve smelled the nice Portuguese style “bacalhau” dish that I prepared and forgot to photograph! 🙂
