Earlier this month we spent two wonderful weeks in Italy, where we visited Venice, Florence, Greve in Chianti, Montefioralle, Siena, San Gimignano, and Montalcino. We drove through the Tuscan countryside and Val d’Orcia all the way to Rome, where we ended the trip. It was a fantastic trip. Italy is a photographer’s paradise and I took thousands of photos. Starting my series on Italy, here’s a slide show of the beautiful Tuscan countryside.

Travel Theme: Statues
The past eight days I’ve been traveling in Italy, after a very nice stop in London. Here are some of the many statues I photographed in London, Venice and Florence.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Inside
For this week’s Photo Challenge, I invite you “inside” the 18-foot-diameter (5.5 m) Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, which takes you up 8,500 ft. to the summit of Mt. San Jacinto, in Palm Springs, California. I was there just two days ago, and here’s proof of that.
I loved the ride and of course took hundreds of photos on the way up and down, as well as at the top of the mountain. This is a great ride that I recommend to anyone who doesn’t have fear of heights. 🙂
Travel Theme: Temptation
This week, Ailsa’s Travel Theme is “Temptation.” That immediately made me think of food, not only because there’s a lot of tempting food out there, but also because eating is such an important part of understanding and appreciating the cultures of the places we visit. Here are some tempting foods from my travels.
