365/Day 306

Surprise ~~

At the end of a gloomy, overcast day, it finally started to drizzle in L.A. around sunset. As I ran outside to check on the “rain,” I was surprised by the sight of a huge rainbow! I quickly grabbed my camera and snapped as many pictures as I could before it was covered by clouds and gone in less than three minutes. So, while these were not the images I had planned for today’s 365 project, I feel I have to use them. Apologies for their low quality, but I couldn’t do better with the time, light, and space constraints I had. Not to mention the urban setting, which didn’t allow for great composition…

Foggy Bay ~~

Santa Monica Bay was covered in dense fog this afternoon and, while the temperature was still mild, there was no sign of summer. The sun struggled against thick clouds and eventually made its way through for another pretty sunset. But it couldn’t upstage the fog that covered the entire bay. I kind of liked that…

365/Day 296

Angelenos~~

That’s what natives or inhabitants of Los Angeles are called. All very angelical, as you can see…

365/Day 287

The Broad Museum~~

Yesterday I didn’t have time to post more about the The Broad (/broʊd/ US dict: brōd), a new contemporary art museum in Downtown, Los Angeles. The museum is named after philanthropist Eli Broad, who financed the $140 million building, designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro, to house part of his contemporary art collection.

365/Day 251

L.A. Sky Tonight~~

As the sun set in Los Angeles this evening, the skies changed very rapidly from blue to pinkish reds and magenta tones, with very dramatic clouds. It would’ve been a great day to shoot the sunset on the beach, but the view from our backyard was not too shabby…
