It’s not easy picking favorites, be it photos, places, people, food, etc… But I have no problem picking my most favorite views, which I got to enjoy late afternoon this past Sunday, at a quieter than ever Venice beach.

I’ve gotten some nasty reactions when photographing strangers, so I try to do it in a non-obtrusive way or with their permission. Definitely my favorite time to shoot the ocean and the scenery around it. Here’s a small sample of shots taken in places I often go to in Brazil, where I was born, and in California, where I live.
Signs can be funny, informative, deceiving, but some are plain eerie. Walking around the ocean front in Venice Beach, California, you’ll see these signs everywhere. Venice is at sea level and California is earthquake prone, so these signs are a constant reminder that a tsunami may happen any time…
