Weekly Photo Challenge: Inside
For this week’s Photo Challenge, I invite you “inside” the 18-foot-diameter (5.5 m) Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, which takes you up 8,500 ft. to the summit of Mt. San Jacinto, in Palm Springs, California. I was there just two days ago, and here’s proof of that.
I loved the ride and of course took hundreds of photos on the way up and down, as well as at the top of the mountain. This is a great ride that I recommend to anyone who doesn’t have fear of heights. 🙂
Travel Theme: Temptation
This week, Ailsa’s Travel Theme is “Temptation.” That immediately made me think of food, not only because there’s a lot of tempting food out there, but also because eating is such an important part of understanding and appreciating the cultures of the places we visit. Here are some tempting foods from my travels.
Weekly Photo Challenge: Perspective

Weekly Photo Challenge: Threes
This week’s challenge is to create a three-picture story. Here’s my interpretation:
Occupy Every Space
Back in November of 2011, while walking around the Hollywood and Highland Center–a shopping complex in Hollywood– I heard chanting that sounded like a protest. I was at the top level of the structure so, as I looked down, all I could see was a very busy scene.
I continued to look down trying to figure out where the chanting was coming from and finally spotted a small but very loud group of young people. They were singing, shouting slogans, and passing out leaflets, while a couple of policemen quietly observed them.
As it turned out, they were part of the Occupy Wall Street movement, which was spreading all over the US and had reached Los Angeles. The last photo zooms in on the most vocal of the protesters, a sort of leader of the group.
