365/Day 160

Rainy Day~~

LA’s “June gloom” today came with rain, heat, humidity, and winds… We are used to the doom and gloom of June mornings in SoCal, but usually by noon the marine layer has given way to the sun and days can be spectacular. Not today… Very light rain came and went all day putting a damper on my photo plans. So I walked around the garden, that always looks good after some rain, and shot these images.

365/Day 158

Tender Moment~~

There they sat staring at the ocean, oblivious to the world around them. Her head leaning on his shoulder as he gently stroked her hair. I was moved and confused. Was that a happy moment? A sad one? Were they grieving, or just enjoying a quiet afternoon at the park? I couldn’t figure out and couldn’t stop myself from capturing that beautiful tender moment, whatever it might have meant…

365/Day 154

On The Streets of France (late posting for June 3, Day 154 of Project 365)~~

Back in LA with loads of photos from my France trip, I’ll continue to share them to catch up with my 365 project. This post’s photos show people going about their lives in the various places we visited in France these past two weeks.

365/Day 153

One City, Two Rivers (late posting for June 2, Day 153 of Project 365)~~

I’ve been fighting some serious jet lag and trying to get back to some important matters I must attend to here in LA. In the meantime, I’m trying to catch up on my 365 project, interrupted by inefficient WiFi capabilities of some hotels in France. This post is for June 2, the day we traveled back to the US. Since I didn’t have a chance to take photographs then, I thought I’d pay homage to one my favorite spots on the trip:the city of Lyon. I love cities that have some body of water around them, be it a river, a lake or the ocean. Lyon has two rivers: the Rhône and the Saône. The Saône is a right tributary of the Rhône, rising at Vioménil in Vosges and joining the Rhône in Lyon, just south of the Presqu’île. Here are views of both rivers from the bridges we crossed many times.

365/Day 152

Leaving Lyon to Paris (late posting for June 1 – Day 152 of 365 Project)~~

We left Lyon in the morning of June 1 and headed by train to Paris for a final half-day in the city. This post shows some of the countryside between Lyon and Paris and some of our afternoon meanderings in Paris. We went back to the Left Bank for a walk around the Jardin du Luxembourg and the Latin Quarter.

365/Day 151

Lyon II: Sunday Market (late posting for May 31, 2015 – Day 151 of Project 365)~~

There’s nothing like a good neighborhood street market. Especially when it is in France! This one in Lyon, by the banks of the Saône river, was very interesting. Locals and visitors mingled, some shopping, some enjoying a meal or a drink with friends and family.
