Lens Artists – Inspiration

A great theme from Tina Schell at Lens Artists. Inspiration is such an important part of the creative process! We need it like we need oxygen. I find a lot of inspiration in my travels and have been struggling this year, not being able to travel because of Covid-19. But I have a few Muses right here at home. They are always available and I often go to them for inspiration.

The Pacific Ocean is an eternal muse. I’m very inspired by it and, luckily, it’s always there for me, majestic and exciting, calming and inspiring. (ICM photography)

Other constant source of inspiration are my beautiful Agave plants. I have several at home and have been photographing them for years, mostly in abstract form using ICM technique.

Modern Architecture is another constant source of inspiration for me, be it here in L.A. or in my many travels.

Finally, I am always inspired by Color, which I use often on my abstracts. (ICM photography)

WPC: Satisfaction

The theme of this week’s photo challenge is Satisfaction. What brings me satisfaction?

Heatwave! ~~

There’s a heatwave going on in Southern California this weekend. Some areas of L.A., especially the Valleys, are seeing temps between 100F and 108F. Along the coast, temps have been in the mid- to high-80s, making it perfect for enjoying the wonderful beaches of SoCal. And people are flocking to them. Here’s Venice Beach, my favorite.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Horizon

“Never have I found the limits of the photographic potential. Every horizon, upon being reached, reveals another beckoning in the distance. Always, I am on the threshold.”

Weekly Photo Challenge: Sea

This week’s photo challenge is “Sea.”

If we were to get technical, I couldn’t post anything as I don’t have photos of any of the world’s “seas.” However, since in popular language “ocean” and “sea” are used interchangeably, I will ignore that there is a difference between them and post photos of the beautiful Pacific Ocean on the California coast. 🙂
