The new year brings us a new photo challenge and, wouldn’t you know it, the theme is New! 🙂
This week, Ailsa at Where’s My Backpack? asks us to share our Minimalist photos, i.e., “those with cleaner lines, fewer elements, strong on structure and somehow easier on the eye.” Here’s my take on the theme:

Minimalist shot of building in the architecturally minimalist city of Brasilia.
“There is no blue without yellow…” (Vincent Van Gogh)

Yellow sculpture. Villa Rufolo, Ravello, Italy.

When it comes to color saturation, there is no place like the boardwalk on Venice Beach, California, which happens to be one of my favorite places to photograph. I was there just yesterday and here are some of the very colorful shots I got. Talk about saturation!

Fresh from the tree!
On this Northeast Brazil beach, coconuts are hand-picked for you.

After savoring its deliciously sweet water, you can ask them to crack the coconut open so you can eat its delicious meat.

It doesn’t get any better, and fresher, than that!
