10.16.2016 – A terrible accident took the life of a friend on Sunday. I hadn’t seen her in years but we kept in touch through Facebook. She was so happy to be in California, traveling down the coast with her husband… We were probably going to see each other this coming week when they’d be in Santa Monica. I am so sad…

As the sun set in Los Angeles this evening, the skies changed very rapidly from blue to pinkish reds and magenta tones, with very dramatic clouds. It would’ve been a great day to shoot the sunset on the beach, but the view from our backyard was not too shabby…
The Sun Rests After a Longer Day —
Today we started Daylight Saving Time in the US. Perhaps because of that, or maybe because it felt like early summer this weekend, there were hordes of people at the Santa Monica Pier waiting to bid farewell to the sun. It was a glorious sunset!

One of my New Year’s resolutions is to start a Project 365, which consists of taking a photograph every day and posting it online. Let’s see how well I do!
