Spring is Here! And with spring come warmer days, bees, birds, and, of course, lots of flowers! Not that L.A. is flowerless during the winter. In fact, L.A. is never flowerless. We have flowers all year long –including some pretty awesome desert stuff– but there’s never as much variety as in the spring. So, if we keep getting some rain (fingers crossed), soon they’ll all be blooming with full force! Here are a few flowers blooming in our garden right now.

365/Day 69
Kaya’s Birthday — Today was Kaya’s sixth birthday! She still looks like a puppy but she’s a young adult in dog years… 🙂 She had a little party, we sang happy birthday and gave her a special cookie that she devoured in less than a minute. She also got a new toy bunny that will be slowly destroyed over the next few months.

Welcome to LAX!
I used to wonder what the “X” in LAX stood for. Eventually I found out that it doesn’t mean anything. Every airport must have a unique three-letter identifier to streamline the process of tracking the millions of items of airport data transmitted daily and Los Angeles chose to use an “X” as the third letter. Now, is it a coincidence that the word “lax” means, among other things, “not sufficiently strict, severe, or careful” or “relaxed”? Just saying… 🙂 I was there and snapped a few pics of the entrance, which is actually much prettier at night.
Weekly Photo Challenge: Orange
This week, Michele, of the Daily Post, invites us to “share a group of photos where orange is either the dominant color, or provides a bold highlight.” Easy!
