Santa Monica Bluffs
Entering Santa Monica from the Pacific Coast Highway (Highway 1), one sees the beautiful bluffs that separate the city above from the beach below, and protects it from Tsunamis, I think…

Can you figure out this story just based on the subjects’ body language?
“Lucky,” the black and white King Charles Chevalier on the right, had been wondering away from his human, who kept calling him in a somewhat threatening voice. He finally returned. But unlike his pal on the left, who had obediently stayed close to their human all along, Lucky just sat nearby, defiantly looking away from her. And he stayed like that for as long as I was around. He also kept an eye on me as I tried to capture the moment. Quite an attitude there, Mr. Lucky! Couldn’t help but love him, though… 🙂
Chagall on my mind…
Last Saturday I saw a musical about young Marc Chagall and his first wife Bella Rosenfeld. A love story that ended with her premature death. “Flying Lovers of Vitebsk” is a small and unpretentious British production, that didn’t quite live up to my expectations –I was hoping for something more visually stimulating because…Chagall!– but it was still quite enchanting. It made me think of a couple of his paintings among the many I’ve photographed: “I and the Village,” 1911 (MoMA) and “Cow with Parasol,” 1946 (NY Met). Chagall’s paintings are so full of details and stories, I like to break them into several scenes.
