Chicago Expo ~~
On our last day in Chicago, we visited the Navy Pier, where the International Exposition of Contemporary & Modern Art (Chicago Expo) is taking place this weekend. Hundreds of galleries are showing beautiful artwork by artists from all over the world. A fantastic exposition. Here’s just a glimpse. More later…
Intricate is the theme for this week’s Daily Post Photo Challenge. Here is my contribution.
1. “Endless V” – Sculpture by Catalan artist Jaume Plensa, at Beverly Hills Garden Park. 2. Fig Tree with massive, intricate roots, in Beverly Hills, CA.3. Detail of “Airplane Parts” sculpture by Nancy Rubins. Made of scraps of old airplanes wired together into a massive junk tree — 25 feet tall and 65 feet across.4. “The Lightning’s Bride” — Elliott Hundley’s panel using wood, pins , metal, paper, plastic, and paintings.
The challenge is “Statues, Carvings and Sculptures,” but I gravitated towards sculptures, my favorite kind of art…
